Another Disappointing Start
Hey all!! As you know we were playing the Hendersonville Bearcats on Friday. During the first quarter, the cougars were scoreless, trailing the Bearcats 13-0. Finally with 10:39 left in the second quarter, senior Shamale Lee runs the ball in 15 for the first touchdown. With a kick from Landon Medina we were 13-7. About two minutes and thirty-three seconds after Lee's score, Michael Thompson ran it in for the Bearcats. The pass was failed leaving Heritage 19-7 with 8 minutes and 46 seconds on the clock. After another two minutes, Anthony Silvers miraculously ran 48 yards for another Cougar score. With a kick from Medina, the score was then 19-14 with six minutes and thirty-nine seconds to go. The Bearcats managed to get two more touchdowns before the end of the quarter, leaving the half-time score at 35-14. During the third quarter, both teams showed great efforts and fought over possession of the ball until there was about 5 minutes left in the third quarter when the Bearcats scored once again.
During the fourth quarter, the Bearcats once again got past the Cougar defense for another score with eleven minutes and twelve seconds left in the game. After about five minutes, Silvers ran 27 more yards to make the score 48-21. Both teams played exceptionally well throughout the entire game. The final score was 48-21, making the Cougars 3-3. The Cougars are now 0-1 in the Western Highlands Conference. The next game will be at home against Polk in another WHC game. Good Luck Boys!!

Summary
Hey all!! To get you all updated i went through my Cougar football binder (where i keep the articals from the news paper) and read them all so I could summarize for you. The season started with a 21-13 loss. Before the game Coach Joey Robinson got the boys together and had an emotional pre-game meeting, reminding the seniors (Anthony Silvers, Shamale Lee, Malachi Banks, Waylon Watts and Mark Davis) that this was there last season with the Cougars and perhaps the last opening night they would ever play in. For the past three years these boys have played hard and tried there very best, but their efforts have failed them and left them with heartbreaking losses. After the first game Coach Robinson told the boys that they played a very good game and that even though they lost he knew that they gave their all. The next game was a great win for the Cougars. They stomped Christ School 63-27. The boys worked hard and enjoyed the first win of this season. With smiling faces the Cougars pounded Rosman 23-8. Once again the Cougars put all their effort into the game and blasted through smiling once again. On the 9th we took out West Henderson 28-21. As you know we lost our next game against Erwin. But with high hopes we are going into the Hendersonville game on the 23rd.
